Full Product Details
Centering Lines
Each lino press features carefully laser-burnt centering lines on the bottom plate of the press. The centering lines form a matrix so that positioning paper at the exact center of the plate is easy. This also makes relief printing on our hand lino press easier overall for any size paper format.
The lines have a centering cross and lines for each of the paper sizes: A3, A4, A5, and A6 print sizes.
Two Levers For Optimal Comfort
Like every lino print press we make, the A3 lino press has two handles for optimal comfort when relief printing. This allows for leaning into the press with both hands on the handles above the plate. The levers have little resistance, and smooth movement to ensure even pressure when pressing down. They are also durable enough so that even young ones can lino print, with little risk of damaging the press.
A3-Size Lino Printing Press
The A3 size lino press is popular among artists as the largest of our lino presses. Its design is ideal for printing in different sizes and styles. It comfortably supports print sizes A3 through A6, making it one of the best linocut presses for beginners. The various print sizes are optimal for learning to lino print, or for block printing, woodcut printing, letterpress, plant pressing, and more.
Print to the Edge of the Press
Each lino press has wooden press plates which are larger on the sides by 1 cm more than the specific paper format. This way, it is not only easy to insert paper. It is possible to print to the very edge of the paper.
For the A5 lino press, the wooden pressing plates are 440 x 320 mm in size.
Even Pressure, Everytime
A relief printing plate with a total thickness of 48 mm ensures even pressure across the entire printing surface. The 2-lever mechanism also helps for this thanks to its smooth movement, and overall usability. Also, notice the cedar color of the plates, which match the natural colors of the rest of the lino press.
Adjustable Tilt
The top plate of our lino press has an adjustable tilt to move and lock the top plate into position. This ensures the plate rests evenly on the matrix and paper during relief printing at all times. Simply loosen the adjustments on the side of the machine, adjust the tilt, and tighten the plate into place again.
Highly Durable
Our lino presses have a steel frame with a powder coat, making it both durable and easy to keep clean. The machine also has 5 mm-thick flat steel bars, and a total load capacity up to 100 kg.
Non-Slip Setup
You simply can’t have your lino press moving around when you apply pressure to it. Thus, all of our linocut print machines feature rubber strips on the bottom of the press. These offer both slip protection, and protect workspace surfaces from damage. In addition to this, each linocut press has holes in the base for secure mounting to a workspace area.
Free Gift with Every Purchase
With every lino press purchase, the felt we add to each press is free for our customers. We choose a felt that is strong, and also an ideal thickness for even pressure across the entire surface of the lino press.

FAQs
Please read our FAQs page to find out more.
What kind of printing is our A3 tabletop press suitable for?
Our press is perfect for relief printing, including linocut, woodcut, and other similar techniques. It works excellently on paper, fabric, and a variety of materials, making it highly versatile for different projects. Most of our customers use it for lino printing on various types and weights of paper, with lighter weight paper being ideal for this technique. Recently, printing on t-shirts, bags, and other fabric materials has become increasingly popular. You can even experiment with printing using leaves, plants, and fabrics as matrices, expanding your creative possibilities.
What is the best ink to use for the double lever linocut press?
We highly recommend oil-based inks for use with our linocut printing press. These inks have a thicker consistency, higher opacity, and richer pigment content compared to water-based inks. Water-based inks tend to dry faster, and this can cause the ink to dry on the matrix before it’s printed, which might result in issues. For optimal results, oil-based inks are the best choice for block printing press projects.
What is the maximum thickness of the matrix I can print on the lino press?
Our hand printing press is designed to handle materials up to 3 cm thick. This makes it ideal for printing woodcuts, engravings, letters, and various other matrices, providing flexibility for a wide range of projects.
What is the correct order - lino, paper, felt?
In our experience, the most effective order for printing with our relief press is: start with the matrix, followed by placing the paper on top of the matrix, and then the felt over the paper. This ensures that the top plate presses evenly onto the matrix, resulting in a clean and sharp print.
What is the recommended amount of ink for the lino printing press?
For best results, we recommend performing test prints to determine the ideal amount of ink for your lino print press. When using oil-based inks, you can dilute them with turpentine oil for optimal consistency. Hand printing presses typically require more ink than other types of presses, like cylinder presses, so be prepared to use a generous amount of ink for clear, crisp prints.
Can I print small matrices on a larger press?
Absolutely! Our relief press is designed to accommodate both small and large matrices. For smaller matrices, we recommend positioning them in the center of the press. You can even print multiple smaller matrices at once, as long as they are of the same thickness. This allows you to maximize your time and resources when working with different projects on your block printing press.
What can be used to clean the lino press of ink?
To clean the lino press after printing, we suggest using rubbing alcohol or turpentine oil, especially if you’re using oil-based inks. For water-based inks, water or soapy water will suffice to clean the press. Proper cleaning will ensure that your lino printing press stays in great condition and is ready for your next project.
Is the press suitable for dry needle / gravure printing?
Although our relief press can handle smaller formats of dry needle or gravure printing, we recommend it primarily for linocut printing, monotype printing, and similar techniques. With gravure printing, especially on larger formats, the results might not always be as tight as with a press specifically designed for that purpose.
